Knowledge for Life
Bridging the talent gap between student skills and skills demanded by the market
What is K4Life?
Knowledge for life (K4Life) is a Corporate Social Investment initiative by SevenSeas Technologies aimed at bridging the gap between student skills and skills demanded by the market by providing free training and mentorship to University Students on various industry courses, enabling them to have an overview of the service and product offerings available in the market, consequently empowering them to make informed decisions on their future career choices.
The Knowledge for Life program dubbed ‘K4Life’ is a CSR initiative aimed at bridging the gap between the University ICT curriculum and industry needs at entry level. Through this program, well selected top IT students are educated, trained and mentored on the different service and product offerings available in the market to enable them to make informed decisions on their future career choices. In addition, the program contributes to the market a talent pool of skilled resources.
Since its inception in 2010, over 500 students have gone through the program from 3 top universities in Kenya. These include: Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology, Kenyatta University and University of Nairobi.
SST has a robust, Management Trainee program which feeds from the K4Life initiative. In addition, major IT players from diverse sectors in Kenya have benefited by recruiting from this pool.
K4Life aims at being a collaboration hub between ICT players in the region and a talent-sourcing hub from where Global technology leaders can source for skill.
