Seven Seas Technologies Limited (hereafter “SST” or “the Company”) is a leading provider of integrated business and technology solutions in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA); serving institutional clients in the healthcare, finance, security, and social services industries. SST was founded by Michael Macharia & Rob Van Hoek in 1999 with the Late James Gachui joining the team as the founding Chairman in 2003 and since its inception, SST has grown to be a leading provider of enterprise-scale technology solutions servicing large public and private institutions in the region. SST provides business applications, service management, ICT infrastructure & software, business corporate training, and project management services to its clients that primarily operate in the healthcare, telecom, banking and social services sectors.

SST last 5 years has emerged as a market leader in the provisioning of turnkey healthcare infrastructure projects in the region. In the healthcare sector its primary focus, SST provides public and private hospitals with medical equipment supplies, turnkey healthcare program implementation (PMO), hospital information systems (HIS), healthcare information technology (HCIT), equipment installation and after-sales services.

Delivery & commissioning of 1st  Varian Haclyon Cancer treatment center in Kenya for Nairobi West Hospital


Introduction of Oncology division and signup of Varian Medical Systems as a Partner


Signed a contract with the Ministry of Health to provide Kenyans an Integrated National Healthcare Digitization Project to cover 98 Top Government hospitals across the country for $47.5M


Closed an investment round with Toyota Tsusho  now for USD  $3,000,000 representing 9 % Equity Stake in the company.


Partnered with General Electric  to supply medical equipment and implment the Managed Equipment Services to 98 hospitals all across Kenya


Signed a contract with the Ministry of Devolution to provide Kenyans an Integrated Service Delivery System


Secured a major project with a utility company in Zambia, a milestone in strengthening presence in SADC region


Signed a Managed Services Partnership with a leading telecommunications company, Safaricom, with a joint target to achieve $100M data revenues


Secured a Cloud Services Platform Project with leading telco & launched Knowledge for Life (K4Life)


Closed an investment round with Aureous East Africa now ACTIS for USD  $5,000,000 representing 21% Equity Stake in the company.


Secured a major turnkey project with a large East African telco to provide 360 Degree CRM service


Secured a large telco client and partnered with SUN Micro Systems and IBM to venture into data center space


Partnered with Micro Land Limited to offer security, networks and process consulting services


Operations began with 1st project in Rwanda and further expansion to Kenya and Uganda – largely systems integration projects

Founder & Group CEO

Mike Macharia (45) is the founder and CEO of Seven Seas Technologies (SST) Group. A qualified Chartered Accountant with over 20 years experience in entrepreneurship and a graduate of Strathmore/IESE and recently concluded his Global leadership and Public policy Executive training at the Harvard Kennedy School. He has served as the founding curator for the Kenya Chapter of the World Economic Forum and is 2014 World Economic Forum ,Young Global Leader and the ICT Sector Committee Chairman for the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) .He is also a founding board member and Vice Chairman of Endeavor Kenya (2017-2019) a subsidiary to Endeavor Global (endeavor.org). Mike is also a member of the Kenyan chapter of the Young Presidents organization.(https://www.ypo.org/)

Michael has also recently founded a Network Health B2C Startup ,Ponea Health (www.ponea.com)





Ms. June Gachui is an advocate of the high court and specializes in the area of Intellectual Property (IP) law and is General Manager of Kenya Association of Music Producers (KAMP).  She runs a Nairobi-based consultancy boutique known as JGIP CONSULTANTS which offers IP services to a wide range of entrepreneurs in the creative industry as well as educational institutions.  June is a resource person and trainer for members of the creative industry, schools, international organizations and other bodies on matters of IP. And apart from her formal training and interest in the creative sector, June has been and continues to be an artiste in her own right, having made a significant mark in both the local music and theatre scenes over the last decade.

A polished and experienced senior lawyer, Mr. Muchemi is a Director at Seven Seas Technologies Group. He is confident, self-motivated and offers focused leadership. He is keen on and has special interest in the fields of International Law, Arbitration, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), Multilateral and Bilateral Finance and Trade Negotiations. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Strategic Management and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B. Hons.) degree from University of Nairobi. He is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London, U.K. (FCI Arb.), Member of The Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya (CPS (K)) and Law Society of Kenya.
